Lykke was a Swiss-based cryptocurrency trading app founded in 2015 by Richard Olsen. It offers a zero-fee trading platform for cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, with a focus on providing a comprehensive ecosystem for both retail and institutional clients. Lykke has been declared insolvent after years of financial struggles and a devastating June 2024 cyberattack that stole CHF 22.8 million — about a quarter of its total assets. Despite efforts to recover, trading ceased in December 2024, and liquidation proceedings began for its parent company and operating subsidiary. Customers face uncertainty about their crypto holdings, with many criticizing poor communication and pursuing legal action against founder Richard Olsen. Olsen has expressed hopes of compensating users through potential future profits from unrelated ventures, but no concrete plans have been disclosed, which is why we're marking Lykke 'dead' on Cryptoradar.
